Fund Management
Director
Profile
I have been part of the fund management department, which is responsible for managing clients' assets, since Societe Generale Private Banking Japan's inception in 2002. I personally meet with clients, take note of their asset management needs, and manage their assets in close accordance with their wishes. I also report directly to clients on a periodic basis to discuss the outcome of our asset management activities. Critical to my day-to-day fund management efforts are opinion exchanges with the Societe Generale Group's fund managers at key locations around the globe, which allow me to incorporate a broader perspective into my fund management activities. Fund management for private banking clients deals with precious assets entrusted by individuals and thus involves difficulties entirely different from those relating to fund management for institutional investors. In line with the European tradition of private banking practice, Societe Generale Private Banking places the utmost importance on building long-term relationships with clients, and my fund management work here presents ample opportunities to utilize my past experiences and expertise while giving me immeasurable satisfaction.
What's your background?
I have worked in both Japanese and French trust banks for almost thirty years, nearly two-thirds of that in the fund management area. This includes experience with short term trading of securities and foreign exchange, management-based investment of banks' proprietary accounts in securities to establish and reinforce relationships with corporations, training at a British fund management firm to manage pension funds over a long-term investment horizon, and fund management-related studies at business schools in the United States and the United Kingdom. From 1999, my key activity area has been fund management in securities for high net worth individuals.
